Welcome to Kids Connection at The Well

When you bring your children to Kids Connection, our commitment is to provide a safe, fun environment in which we support what they are learning at home about Jesus and His great love for us! From nursery through 6th grade, our focus is Christ and encouraging our children toward a relationship with Him.

For Our Parents

We know how difficult it can be as a parent to leave your children, especially those little ones, in a new place. We strive to create a safe, nurturing environment for your children to learn about Jesus and have fun in the process. Our hope is that when your family comes to church for a service, everyone has the opportunity to experience our awesome God!

We believe that parents are designated by God to be the primary spiritual leaders in the family. It is our desire to support, help, and supplement the parent’s teaching so that each child who comes as part of our family will grow to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior.

Safety:

  • All of our volunteers are background checked & trained
  • We use pagers for quick, convenient contact with parents, from Nursery through Preschool classes
  • Evacuation routes are posted in all classrooms and leaders are aware of the procedures and directions
  • Sick children are asked to stay home in order to not spread illness
  • No physical aggression or disruptive behavior will be allowed

New Families/Nursing Moms:

An Area is provided at each campus where families with new babies, and/or nursing Moms, can relax with the little ones while viewing and participating in the service.

Curriculum:

Beginning at age 1, our amazing volunteers teach curriculum-based lessons that are fun and engaging for students. (See preschool & elementary pages for specific information regarding curriculum)

For Our Volunteers

The “secret” to our incredible Kids Connection program are the faithful people who love children and teaching them about Jesus every week. And as our ministry continues to grow, so does our need for more people with a passion for kids. Could that be you?

We are looking for volunteers to serve on a weekly/bi-weekly/once a month basis on every campus, at every service. Teachers, helpers, worship leaders… we can use whatever gifts and talents you have! Whether you love tossing a frisbee, teaching a 10-year-old about Moses, singing “Jesus Loves Me”, or rocking a newborn to sleep, we will place you in a classroom where you are excited to serve.

Before you can begin, we’ll need to find the perfect place for you at the campus & service of your choice. Then you will need to fill out an application, background check consent form, and get 2 references. After being cleared you will meet with your coordinator and get started!

We ask our volunteers to commit to serving for a specific period of time, and we recommend serving at least bi-montly. That allows you to connect with your kiddos and really feel a part of what is happening. Please let your coordinator know if you have time restrictions for serving (leaving for the summer or college student home for vacation)

Volunteer Expectations

  • Teachers MUST have a relationship with Jesus!
  • Complete application & reference forms and have clearance before serving.
  • Teachers must have a relationship with Jesus
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your service for prayer & preparation.
  • Find a substitute and contact your coordinator if you are unable to serve on your scheduled date.
  • Have your lessons prepared prior to arriving at church
  • Attend a Discovery class and all mandatory training events
  • Attend mandatory training events.
  • Be familiar with the KC Volunteer Handbook (available on Unifyer), and ask any necessary questions
  • Read through the volunteer handbook and ask any necessary questions.
