ReGeneration Groups FAQ

Back to ReGeneration Groups.

  • How does ReGeneration work?

ReGeneration is a biblical 12-step process structured within the context of small groups. Your first couple months will be spent in either a newcomers group (your first week) or a groundwork group. Once you have complete the groundwork curriculum, demonstrate a willingness to participate and decide you want to move forward, you will be placed into a step-group to go through the 12 steps. Step-groups have a set number of participants and leaders. Once a step-group is launched, no new members will be added. For the next 8 to 10 months you will progress through the steps using daily curriculum along with other step-group members.
  • How long does it take?

The entire ReGeneration process takes about a year; newcomers and groundwork groups take about 2 months, and step-groups take 8 to 10 months. The groundwork curriculum lessons take about 10 minutes per day while step-group curriculum takes about 30 minutes per day. These few minutes a day with God working on your recovery for one year will change your life.
  • How much does it cost?

There is no charge to attend ReGeneration. Once you decide to start the curriculum, there is a $10 charge for the groundwork curriculum. Once you begin a step-group, there is a $15 charge for each of the four books, with the exception of one of our four books costing $20. Each book of the step-group curriculum contains three steps; you do not need to buy all four books at once but can purchase a new book when your group reaches the next set of steps. The total cost is $75 for a year of curriculum. If cost is an issue, email regeneration@thewellcommunity.org. We don't want money to keep you from freedom in Christ.
  • What is the flow of a ReGeneration meeting?

ReGeneration meetings may vary, but most groups begin meetings with all leaders and participants gathered together during the first 45 minutes to worship and hear a testimony or teaching. The large gathering will then break into smaller groups for the remainder of the time. Newcomers groups, groundwork groups and step-groups all meet separately for the next hour and 15 minutes. All together the gathering lasts about 2 hours.
  • Can I Attend if I don’t have a chemical addiction?

Yes. ReGeneration is for everyone. God's steps of healing can free you from any addiction, struggle or hurt. Many people attend to discover the source of their pain. You will always be welcome, regardless of the struggle.
  • How Does Childcare Work?

Childcare is provided at no cost for children sixth grade and younger, and all of our childcare workers are fingerprinted and background-checked. You do not need to let us know ahead of time that you are bringing your children. When you arrive, you will be directed to the kids’ area for check-in.
