To understand the gospel, we have to understand the bad news of our depravity. From the very beginning, humankind was made in the image of God. But it didn’t take long for us to sin and screw up His original design. What God intended to be holy became corrupt. We are entirely hopeless without Him, dead in our sins, incapable of saving ourselves. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. Every single one of us.
