The Well Presents Visionary Parenting

Posted April 29 Kids Ministry

Parents, YOU are the most influential person in your children’s lives. Your home is the primary environment where faith and character are formed and shaped.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

Our goal at The Well is to guide parents to be the primary source of discipleship of their children. We, as the church, want to come alongside to support and equip parents to be successful, whether you have a newborn or adult children not yet walking with the Lord, we want to offer resources, encouragement, and practical tips to lead the heart of your child to the Lord.

If you had the pleasure of attending the Visionary Parenting conference last November at the North Campus you know how impactful his teaching was. We had amazing feedback from you! From "life changing" to "Amazing! I want to bring everyone I know to hear!" Well, here's your chance to share his insights on intentional parenting and the importance of family worship with your friends and family! If you are new to Visionary Parenting, we encourage you to tune in to each session and catch God's vision and purpose for the family and learn some great ways to guide the heart of your child to the Lord!

  • Session 1: Dr. Rob Rienow kicks off the first night of Visionary Parenting with answers to some of the most important questions in parenting. Where is the hardest and most important place to be a christian? And what is God’s plan for family? He breaks down scripture and applies it to family and this creates a foundation for the rest of this impactful conference.
  • Session 2: In this session, Dr. Rob Rienow helps us to connect Old Testament and New Testament as one unified story. He looks at God’s heart and purpose for the family, and the parents role as the main disciple maker for the home through the lens of the New Testament. We learn how the first commandment to love God and the great commission to go and make disciples are interconnected. The session ends with a question and answer from the audience.
  • Session 3: This Session is focused on the Christian Vision for raising siblings. Dr. Rob Rienow breaks down the importance of praying as a family for God to show siblings how they can advance His Kingdom together. Primarily for siblings to learn how to serve together for a shared purpose, to serve Jesus.
  • Session 4: Dr. Rob Rienow explains how the family is Gods primary vehicle for the discipleship of children and how family worship is the engine that powers that vehicle. Rob talks about the importance of family worship and what it can do for a family. He also talks about the how and gives some practical things to do for family worship. His one word of advice “start somewhere.”
  • Session 5: D. Rob Rienow covers parenting your teenager in this hour long session. He goes over the 5 common reasons for spiritual apathy in teenagers, and how to combat those issues with truth and grace as you guide your teenager through those formative years between childhood and adulthood.
  • Session 6: Helping families navigate the world of LGBTQ. Dr. Rob Rienow dives deep into scripture to discuss how, as Christians, we can have a ministry of compassion towards family members who are struggling with sexuality while at the same time being a Christian community who has a ministry of justice. Rob lays out some common areas of confusion among the church when it comes to the LGBTQ topic, and walks us through some practical steps we can take to walk alongside our families who are struggling.
