This life group is open to any young professionals from any campus. Couples, please individually sign up.
Sean and Sharon lead this group together. They are both involved in The Well with Life Groups and other areas of ministry. They are excited to reach those who are Young Professionals at The Well and encourage their Life Group to live in community.
How we connect to God
Do you feel like the Bible is supposed to be more than print on a page, more than just a book, but it’s boring to read? What if you learned how to read it; and not just the words on the page? This 2018-19 Fall/Spring season Sean and Sharon will be facilitating a focus in three areas: 1) We’re going to focus on your awareness of how to access the layers and deeper meaning in personal and applicable ways. 2) Focus on what it means to take God seriously and lean into the Holy Spirit for a real relationship that reveals Himself and His Word to you. 3) Practice listening and understanding with vulnerability and genuine engagement with each other through study, discussion and prayer. Two Bible books have been selected for our study this year; Ruth, for approximately the first month while the group settles; and then the Gospel of John, which will take us through spring of next year.
How we connect to Each Other
We begin each study by winding down from the day with a little food and fellowship as a community, catching up on life. Food is welcome but not provided. As young professionals we understand you may be rushing from work or other commitments so bring your dinner with you. On occasion we’ll set aside a week for a potluck and a fun social evening by the pool, game room, movie theater or a cozy fireplace. We usually engage scripture for an hour followed by some prayer and reflection time, ending around 9:30
How we live on mission in Every Neighborhood
Every year the group has gotten involved with the churches Serve Fresno week and Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) to do a project. Two years ago we served at a horse ranch that uses horses to teach important lessons of relational health based on the pillars of Communication, Trust, and Respect. Last year we built four “Free Little Librarys” that were all installed in underprivileged neighborhoods in Fresno. We’re open to new ideas or supporting your passions to serve your/our coworkers, family and communities in other ways.
