The Well Coffeehouse Manager – Full Time (40 hours/week)
The Well Community Church will be operating the Well Coffeehouse in our new Student Center opening in later summer or early fall. We are looking for an experienced coffee house manager to build a team of staff and volunteers to launch the Well Coffeehouse and continue to oversee its ongoing operation.
This role requires someone who will ensure the highest quality of coffee drinks, provide excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming, clean, and well ordered environment.
The Well Coffeehouse employees are employees of the Well Community Church and work under the direction of The Well’s mission, Statement of Faith, culture and values.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years management experience in a café or similar environment
- Proven experience in operation of a café or similar environment
- Ability to implement and uphold best practices in financial operations to help ensure efficient management of resources, accurate accounting and sustainable financial health
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor employees with professional maturity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a dynamic environment
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in any given situation
- Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of The Well
- Strong organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Operational knowledge of cash handling and register procedures
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manages day to day coffee house operations
- Welcome and engage customers with the ability to connect with and know them (new and regular
- Lead in a fast paced environment
- Hire, train, and manage the coffee house staff, which will include employees and volunteers
- Manage the coffee house and merchandise inventory (ordering, stocking, cost control, budget management)
- Strive for excellence in customer experience, product quality, and staff teamwork
- Develop and maintain health, safety and sanitation standards to ensure coffee house cleanliness, order and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Maintain appropriate staffing according to the expected demands of the coffee house
- Work with church leadership and ministries to launch the Well Coffeehouse
