Greetings from Thailand!

This is my second trip up here to the Hill Tribes in Thailland, and let me tell you, it's a completely different experience than the first. The moment we landed and hopped on the back of the trucks to our hotel for the first night in felt like home, and staying with my hut mom from two years ago just makes it feel more like home. There are a few different projects that are going on. One of the projects that I have been mainly on is the water project, and I couldnt wait to be a part of it. Something that I have learned about building a water tank, is that it takes TIME, a lot of strength, and patience. Everything pretty much is built and created with our own hands. The process of bending rebar to hold the structure together, measurements of the sand, rock, water, and cement power to make cement and then mixing it all (the next day you hear your muscles crying.. aka super sore), and so many more details that go into building the tank before the cement is even poured in to create the walls. One of my favorite moments when doing this project, is interacting with the two staff members named Noppadol and his helper Sittichai. The second is Dr Eric Hanson's side comments and telling me that he can tell that I can make good bacliava. The next project I am a part of is digging holes for the coffee seeds. Other than being bit by flies and other critters, it's actually pretty fun! God is seriously doing mighty things through ITDP and in the Hill Tribes. The main thing that I'm noticing is the dedication and commiment in these people and love! Which makes me think of my own life and ask the question, what am I doing that shows my commitment and dedication to the Lord in serving Him because of what He has done in my life. 1 Timothy is the chapter that I've been rereading and thinking about. But keep on praying for us! This is such a great team and being here is such a blessing.

Much love,

Hi there... this is Jon. I also wanted to share a quick thought. We had the privilage of attending a worship service with the Karen people yesterday. One of my most enjoyable moments on Exposure Trips is when our teams have an opportunity to sing similar songs to the God of the universe in our seperate languages at the same time. We serve a global God who sent His Son to reconcile humanity back to himself. What a blessing it is to see what God is doing here in the Hill Tribes through the work of ITDP, Mike Mann and all those focused on serving the Karen people!
