  1. Does The Well Community Church offer professional mental health services? The Well Community Church Counseling Center is a professional counseling center, and our staff is comprised of credentialed mental health professionals.
  2. What are the educational and professional backgrounds of your counselors? We have Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT’s), Marriage and Family Therapy Interns. All counselors have a minimum of a master’s degree in Counseling. We also have a Pastoral Counselor with a Masters in Divinity who provides Pre-Marital counseling and Spiritual Guidance.
  3. What is Christian Counseling? Christian counseling combines professional counseling techniques and Scriptural principles in a unique approach to mental health issues.
  4. Are all of your therapists Christian? At The Well Community Church Counseling Center, all of the therapists acknowledge personal faith in Jesus Christ. They do not all attend The Well Community Church.
  5. Do I have to be a Christian to use your services? Our services are available to everyone. We are a Christian-based counseling center, but our approach is to meet people wherever they are in all areas of life.
  6. How do I make an appointment? Call our Care Ministry at (559) 326-5100 ext 5300 and speak with Wendi.
  7. May I choose my own therapist? You may request a particular therapist. Your preference will be honored if your presenting issue is within their treatment area, and if they have available appointment times.
  8. How long do I need to wait to see someone? Generally, your appointment will be within a week of your initial call. The time may vary for each therapist.
  9. What if I have a life-threatening emergency? If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 or your local police department.
  10. How much does therapy cost? The Well Community Church Counseling Center Counseling Center fees for professional services are below that of other mental health practices in the area. Specific fee information will be provided when you call for an appointment.
  11. Will my visits be covered by insurance? Since policies and benefits vary greatly, our therapists do not deal directly with insurance companies. Clients are responsible for charges which are payable at the time services are rendered. Checks can be made payable to The Well.
  12. How long does therapy take? The length of treatment depends on many factors. It is primarily determined by the nature of the issue and the motivation of the client.
  13. What kinds of issues do your counselors work with? Services are provided for individuals, couples, families, infants, children and adolescents. Counselors are trained in many areas that include Marriage conflict, Marriage Enrichment, Depression, Anxiety, Postpartum Depression, Eating Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Childhood Hurts/Abuse, Pastoral Counseling, Infant Mental Health, Play Therapy, Grief, Domestic Violence, Spiritual Abuse, Sexual Addictions, Women’s Issues and Life Transitions.
