Even after walking on water, feeding the multitudes, healing the sick, and restoring sight to the blind, the disciples only asked Jesus to show them how to do one thing: pray. Jesus modeled such an intimacy with the Father that they were fascinated. His intimacy with the Father was cultivated in prayer, and they saw the connection and longed for it themselves. What an example left for us. Jesus took the time to show the disciples a framework for prayer that has been modeled now for centuries. It is this mysterious back and forth conversation between God and us that brings chaos into perspective, and realigns our hearts toward Him.
