When examining 1 Corinthians 1:1-2, we can’t help but notice Paul’s use of the word “called.” Upon further study we discovered the Greek word Paul uses here is “Kletos” which means to be “invited” -- literally to a banquet.
As we wrestle with what this means for us, one thing keeps coming up: it is by grace and not by merit, that we have received an invitation to be called daughters and sons of the Lord.
Revelation 4:11 & 5:11-14 captures the sense of awe and joy we have as we are reminded of our calling. One day we will join the Church and all the angels in declaring the worth, glory, honor, and power of our Savior.
