Apply to Valley Leadership Academy

At Valley Leadership Academy, we want our students to have a deep abiding relationship with Christ, discover their unique purpose & live it out, invest & lead in the local church and, intentionally pursue biblical community. We take academic learning seriously and hold our students to high standards. As a student at Valley Leadership Academy, you will have the opportunity to gain a community of like-minded, Christ-centered believers who challenge each other to be who God has created them to be. Students applying to Valley Leadership Academy should have a relationship with Jesus, a teachable spirit, and a willingness to work hard to prepare for the future.

Apply in 3 Easy Steps

  1. Choose your desired program of study

    Select from our list of degrees. You can view our full list of courses on the California Baptist University website.

  2. Review the requirements

    Carefully review Valley Leadership Academy and California Baptist University requirements below based on the type of degree selected to check if you are eligible to apply to Valley Leadership Academy.

  3. Complete the Valley Leadership Academy application

    Proceed to create an account and fill out the Valley Leadership Academy application form and pay a non-refundable $50 application fee. For students applying for the Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 school year, applications must be submitted by July 1, 2025. Priority Application deadline is March 10, 2025. Applications for the Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 school year are reviewed beginning March 10th until July 7th.   

    In the application process, you will be required to submit a recording of yourself sharing your testimony and why you want to participate in Valley Leadership Academy. We will NOT accept any application that does not have a video properly linked. (instructions in the application)

    If you are hoping to participate in a worship related practicum, you will be asked to submit a worship audition video along with your application (instructions in the application).

    The application cannot be saved midway, so please plan to complete it in a single session.

    Upon being accepted, students will then take the next step of enrollment by applying to California Baptist University (CBU). Please refrain from applying to CBU until you have received confirmation of your acceptance into Valley Leadership Academy.

    Valley Leadership Academy is currently only accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.

California Baptist University (CBU) Requirements

Please refrain from applying to CBU until you have received confirmation of your acceptance into Valley Leadership Academy.

To be considered for admission, students are required to submit the following documents:

  • A completed Application for Admission submitted online at calbaptist.edu/apply
  • Official transcripts from previously attended colleges and universities, submitted to Admissions, and a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average

*An official high school transcript or the equivalent with a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average is required for applicants with fewer than twenty-four (24) completed units

Official electronic transcripts sent to cbuonline@calbaptist.edu are preferred but if the school does not offer that option, you can have the hard copy sealed transcripts sent to:
