Meet the Interns

Martine Cano

Meet Martine Cano! He is currently attending Fresno State for Mechanical Engineering, and he’s from Gilroy, CA. Martine’s ministry passion is for others to see him as an example that life with God is exciting, fun and fulfilling. His party trick is getting people to laugh at his puns.

Eric Lewellen

Meet Eric Thomas Lewellen! He graduated from Cal Poly SLO in June, 2014, with a degree in Agriculture and Environmental Plant Science. Eric is leaving his career as a Golf Course Superintendent to pursue a calling in ministry, though he is still exploring ministry avenues. He was born in Palmdale, CA, and his ministry passions are evangelism and missions. His party trick is helping others find their party trick.

Derek Riley Jr

Meet Derek D. Riley Jr.! He is currently a student at CSU, Fresno, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Derek was born right outside of Detroit, Michigan, but raised in Atlanta, Georgia since he was 8 years old. Derek’s ministry passion stems out of his love for people, since he is passionate about serving those who are in need, most of the time with a smile – a.k.a, being the Good Samaritan. His party trick is drinking a gallon of milk in an hour.

John Maxwell III

Meet John Maxwell III! He is a student at Fresno State and is majoring in sociology. His party tricks are making people laugh and dancing. John is very passionate and loves telling people about Jesus. He enjoys all types of sports, his favorite football team is the Panthers, and he is the self-proclaimed best Ping-Pong player in the Valley.

Jane

Meet Jane! A gal with a loud personality and down for any adventure, Jane is a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for the Employment Development Department. She is always on the go, and loves meeting new people and taking on some sort of project. Jane enjoys brainstorming, designing and creating – from cake decorating to leather making. She is inspired by the people she meets over a cup of coffee. The word “no” does not exist in her vocabulary, and she’s always up for a challenge. Jane loves to listen to and encourage people to step out of their comfort zone, smile big and remind them: “Life is too short to hold back. Let’s tell others of Jesus, and let’s dream big together.”

Vanessa Davis

Meet Vanessa Davis! She is a college student at Fresno State who works with children with autism. Vanessa loves to karaoke and hike.

Meet Jessica Lopez! She comes from a large Hispanic family, as the oldest daughter of seven. She is a senior at Fresno Pacific University, getting her degree in Communication and Contemporary Christian Ministries. Jessica loves meeting new people and being intentional about making them feel known. She equally loves being out in nature and walking around a noisy, busy city. One day she hopes to use her communication skills in a Christ-focused career that allows her to travel often. In the meantime, she strives to serve efficiently in God's kingdom daily.

Kiera

Meet Kiera! She is passionate about student/college ministry and hopes to continue to work with children in the future. Kiera is excited to see how God will use her through the internship program.
