• What is Merge?

  Merge is a premarital discipleship ministry designed for dating or engaged couples. You will learn God’s design for marriage and process next steps as you continue to grow in your relationship. It is a chance to seek wisdom and receive counsel about marriage in a safe, fun, and authentic environment. It addresses common questions and challenges from a biblical perspective. 

• Is merge premarital counseling?

  Merge is not premarital counseling. Our leaders are mentors not counselors. However, we do believe Merge can equip couples to prepare for marriage. It is a requirement before a Well pastor will officiate a wedding.

  For premarital counseling, we recommend The Well Counseling Center. They offer affordable and professional individual and/or premarital counseling from a Christian worldview. You can find out more information on their website here.

• What does a typical night of merge look like?

  Couples are placed in groups that consist of 3-4 couples, with a mentor couple assigned to each group. Each week you will sit with your group at a table and listen to a teaching. You will then discuss with your group the teaching as well as the weekly homework. 

• How do I sign-up?

  You must register for this class, when registration is open. We offer merge 2-3 times a year. Check our website for dates. If the registration is not open, we have an interest list for the next class that you can join. If you join the interest list, you will be notified via email, once the registration has opened. Space is limited.

• Do I have to be a member of The Well to join?

  No, you do not. 

• What commitment do I have to make?

  Merge is an 8-week class that meets once a week for 2 hours (see times/date on website). We also encourage couples to have a one-off night for a social gathering to bond and get to know your group.

• I am getting married before/during the next class. Should I still sign up for this class?

  Merge is designed for dating and engaged couples. The heart behind merge is to evaluate your relationship before marriage, to see if it's in line with God's design and if your relationship is ready for the next step. If you are engaged and your wedding is before or during the next class, please email us at merge@thewellcommunity.org to discuss other options. 

• I have been married before. Is this class for me?

  Yes, this class is for anybody that is in a serious relationship or engaged from 18 years old to 100. Whether you have been divorced or this is your first relationship. If you are willing to take an honest look at your relationship through the lens of God's design, with the goal of determining your next steps for y our relationship, then merge is for you.
