Directional Leader / Teaching Pastor
Brad lived the stereotypical college life as a star athlete at CSU Fresno until he gave his life to Christ in 1993. The former defensive lineman has a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. After marrying his bride, Jen, in Denton, Texas, they moved back to his hometown of Fresno. He was crazy enough to quit his job in 2002 to start a church with no financial support, no staff, and no building.
Brad and Jen have two daughters, Peyton and Kendall. One of his proudest moments as a pastor and father was baptizing his daughter, Peyton, at age seven.

Mike Cirricione is an outgoing leader who loves to dream big, think out of the box, and values finding creative ways to make disciples. Aside from pursuing Jesus, his passions are shepherding people, teaching, and of course, his wife, Kristin, and daughters, Brooklyn, Kensi and Sadie.
A graduate of Cal State Northridge, Mike also has his an M.A. in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and an M.Div. in Homiletics from Liberty University School of Divinity. Originally from Southern California, Mark and his wife Caitlin were married in 2005 and currently live in Fresno with their three children: Hayden, Hannah and Elijah. Mark surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 19 when he was in college, and immediately got involved with a local church, the very one he would then serve at for 10 years as a youth pastor. With a love for being active as well as engaging with people for the glory of Christ, Mark is grateful and excited about the ministry opportunities this city has to offer, especially from its younger collegiate generation.
Pastor of Spanish Ministry
A native of Nicaragua, Joe Buitrago arrived to the States in 1986. In 1998 he became a pastor, and later planted a Spanish-speaking church in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2008, leaving it in the care of a new pastor in 2015.
Joe and his beautiful wife Rebeca were married in 1999, and they have four children: Moises, Gisel, Sofia and Joel. He enjoys cooking, watching a good game of baseball, and spending time with his family and three dogs.
Fig Garden Campus Pastor
Josh grew up in a Christian home right here in Fresno. Turning away from God during his teenage years, he made a life-changing commitment to Christ in college and eventually became the pastor of the college ministry he was discipled in. A graduate of Fresno State and Mennonite Brethren (now Fresno Pacific) Biblical Seminary, he also studied at Talbot School of Theology, and has been a pastor of students and adults since 1999.
Josh enjoys playing board games, reading, traveling and spending time with his family. He and his beautiful wife Chris have been married since 1995, and they have three teenage sons: Noah, Sam and Gabriel.
Chris’ journey to The Well was part of God’s redemptive work in his life as he came to a radical understanding of the gospel when he started attending The Well in 2005. In 2010 Brad Bell called him out of the blue and invited him to serve on the pastoral staff. Chris responded with, “I’ll ask Jesus and Jen,” and after both agreed, he has served as both a Campus Pastor and Spiritual Formation Director since 2010.
He and his wife Jennifer have been married since 1999 and are passionate about marriage and family. They serve as facilitators at the Scott River Lodge, counsel couples, and lead our ReEngage marriage enrichment program. They have four beautiful daughters (Kamryn, Addison, Tessa and Samantha), and find themselves in an exciting and full season of life.
Raised in a non-Christian home, Shea was introduced to Jesus Christ during his sophomore year of high school. He later spent roughly 10 years serving in college ministry, where he met his bride, Tiffany. They got married in 2000 and have five daughters: Emma, Sara, Rebekah, Abigail and Hannah. Shea got his M.A. in Spiritual Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2003, then went on to pastor the very college ministry he was a part of. He enjoys watching football and playing basketball, and he loves his Blue Bell ice cream.
After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary, Mike Slayden decided to move from the Texas heat…to Fresno. He’s worn a number of hats during his tenure that began in 2004, but currently teaches the Bible two mornings a week to people who aren’t even awake yet. This does, of course, require a lot of coffee, and he loves his fancy schmancy French press – almost as much as he loves his bicycle.
Not just a pastor, Mike is also the founder of Off The Front, a local CBO that battles childhood obesity. If you ever see him with his wife and three daughters at one of his favorite restaurants, Famous Dave’s, check under his mashed potatoes. That’s where he hides his peas.
Dave Obwald graduated with his Master’s Degree in Conflict and Peacemaking Studies from Fresno Pacific University and was the Residence Director at FPU for five years before coming on staff at The Well. Alongside his role as the Director of ReGeneration, he also serves as a mediator/conflict coach at The Well Counseling Center.
Dave has a passion for seeing people live out the gospel, as well as a love of sports, reading and hanging out with his three kids, Cohl, Kirra and Jenna. Dave met his wife Erin when they were in junior high, and they have been married since 1999.
