David and his Life Group came alongside Spirit of Woman, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women seeking recovery from substance abuse. Life Group member Jim Kraus, a retired landscaper, used his talents to lead the group in preparing a section of the grounds for sod and build a fence to enclose a play area for kids.

This Life Group has an ongoing friendship with Spirit of Woman, and they are living out what it means to be the church, not just go to church.

"Our Life Group started working with Spirit of Woman two years ago (as a result of the first Serve Dei), and we have worked with them ever since. We have a movie night with them once a month, plant a garden every year on the premises for the women to tend, and have pooled our money for things like sports equipment. This has been a huge blessing for our group that probably would have never started, had it not been for the change from Serve Day to Serve Dei." – David Hauge
