The last day of our Lord’s life before He was crucified was all about…Peter (at least from Peter’s perspective). His pride blinded him to the greater spiritual realities all around him. He was so focused on ‘himself’ that he could not see ‘Him.’ God used this experience to bring him to the point of humbly submitting himself to the one in charge: Christ – not Peter.
