Jacob's name means 'deceiver,' and when Jacob meets Laban, he gets a taste of his own medicine. God put Laban in Jacob's life to kill the Laban in Jacob. The difference between Jacob and us is that we have hope in a faithful God that sent us Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, to set us free from the mastery of sin and death.
