When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water during the storm, they were afraid, but after recognizing Him, they invited Him into the boat with them. Other Gospel accounts elaborate on further details, but John chooses to leave them out, focusing only on Jesus’ presence with them in the boat, as if to clarify that it was enough, whether He calmed the storm or not. So what happens when Jesus doesn’t fix the storms in our lives? May we learn to rest in the promise that He is present with us through every circumstance and catastrophe, and regardless of the outcome of the difficulties we face, He is all we will ever need.
