My name is Micah Haury. I was able to come to Costa Rica with my wife Candice, and am part of the sports ministry for the two weeks here at Students International. One of the first things I learned about Costa Rica is that these people, who we came to love on, are very welcoming, warm, and friendly. The love I was planning on showing has been doubled and returned to me. It has been a blast to look ridiculous playing soccer with primary school students who can run circles around me. There is no judgement, just joy.

Another huge positive is that sports seem to be a universal language. Playing keep away, passing the ball back and forth, and giving piggy back rides require very little language, but speak volumes about who we are and what we came to do. Costa Rica has shown me many aspects of God's awesome love and joy! I am excited to see what the many days ahead of us hold.
