Privet!

Today is the official first day of organized camp. It's been a day filled with music, games, and a message about God's love and our self-worth. I am working with the 5th and 6th graders. There are about 13 kids in that group and we had 11 show up. Praise God! They were such good listeners and they seemed eager to learn the verse we were teaching.

I think the hardest part about being at this camp is the fact that all the kids here have all been told that something is wrong with them by either a doctor or a teacher. This label is the reason they are at this camp. I want so badly to tell each one that they are smart, they are beautiful, and they are so loved by our holy maker. Because of the language barrier, the best way to show this is through physical touch. What surprised me the most was how much I love their hugs! I love walking with them and having them reach out and grab my hand. Walking, sitting with them, and listening to them amazes me and I see God's love when I am with them.

This afternoon when the kids were having quiet time, our team was able to go to the river. After a couple days of cold showers, the river water felt amazing. We took our shampoo and soap and showered in the river! What an unforgettable experience. The river was beautiful.

There is so much more to say, but it's time for afternoon sports!

Shout out to my family!
