Hello Church Family!

Our trip here in Guatemala has been nothing short of fabulous, humbling and redemptive. My eyes and ears have been on overload since we began this journey here in Guatemala, and there is so much to process that it cannot all be explained in a simple blog.

I am involved in the Agriculture and Veterinary site where our team plays a crucial role in the community and the health of their food. Being part of this specific site has shown me that a community depends on food, water and shelter to live, but that their spiritual health is just as important.

The beautiful part of my site has been watching my leader Victor Manuel "Meme" proving diligent in his work for this community by making the gospel his primary focus. I've watched him progress from a simple conversation about the health of a cow to asking a farmer about their spiritual health. Talk about conviction! I watch his love for Christ provide the energy and fuel needed to fulfill the Great Commission in his daily life. I wonder how myself as an American can become more gospel-focused in my career and everyday encounters.

The Lord's heart is for those in all types of poverty, and He is making this extremely clear during my stay here in Guatemala. May the Holy Spirit continue to provide the spiritual richness needed to have a heart like Christ and share that with others.

By His Grace for His Glory,
Eric Lewellen
