January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. On Sunday, January 25th, MadeForThem along with Mollie's House will be showing a FREE screening of a documentary on sex trafficking in america. The film was directed and narrated by Natalie Grant and highlights 6 organizations who are have safe houses across the nation. The event is hosted by People's Church @ 6pm.
After, the film we will have a panel discussion and open Q&A with local experts, and personal testimonies. We will share opportunities for you to engage your congregation as a whole, or small groups. This is an epidemic that is in our community and the church must have a voice in it. Detective Fries, who sits on our board said there is anywhere from 300-500 girls available for sex for sale on any given night.
Please join with us. We CAN make a difference, but know that the greatest impact comes through the power of the unity of the church.
IN PLAIN SIGHT - Reaction to Film Preview from David Trotter on Vimeo.
There will be multiple opportunities for community involvement, but the In Plain Sight Team has also created a 31 Dy Devotional and Study Guide.
Designed to accompany the IN PLAIN SIGHT documentary on sex trafficking in the United States and IN PLAIN SIGHT music album, this 31 Day Devotional and Group Study Guide will help you understand and embrace God’s heart for the vulnerable and broken in our world. Although the workbook can be used simply as a personal devotional, it is designed for a group to use as a five-week study. (Foreword by Natalie Grant)
Hope to see you there!
