Do you think about how useful the tools are that you use to perform your jobs every day? You can have the knowledge and skills, but without the tools in hand you can do nothing, whether it is a student using a laptop to write a paper, a mechanic with a wrench, or a missionary with a vehicle to carry the gospel to hard-to-reach villages.
Those are exactly some of the essential items we were able to contribute last year with Pass the Plate funds.
We were able to help support one of our Global partners, West African Vocational Schools, and purchase tools to launch their New Entrepreneurs Program. Tools are now on their way over to Guinea-Bissau, and students will be able to enroll in the program, putting aside funds each semester to purchase high quality tools at a low cost (thanks to your gifts) upon graduation. School director, Almamo Danfá, explains how the program “can help students put into practice the skills they learned at the school. This way they are able to make more revenue and become self-sustainable.”
We also contributed toward a vehicle for our Extended Family, the Griffiths, in West Africa. The heart of this sweet family of five is to live incarnationally among a people group without access to the good news in their heart language. As they transition to a hard-to-access village in West Africa, that necessitated purchasing a vehicle. They say thank you!
As we walk alongside our global partners, our prayers, encouragements and financial gifts make a huge impact!
