Hi Fresno! It's Brooke and Tori. We are ending our third day at the camp. These past four days have been eye opening for everyone. Our team has joined with the Ukrainian team in running the camp and has bonded greatly regardless of the language barrier. We just got done enjoying each other's company by worshipping the Lord together. It's a blessing to see that even though we may not speak the same language, or not even have the same cultural background, that God is the centerfold of both of our lives and is our personal savior. God has used our entire team to come together as one to serve the kids and his kingdom.
The kids here are like super heros. Regardless of what they have been through, they are so loving and willing to let people come into their lives. Sometimes all they want is a hug and you can see their eyes instantly light up with joy. The things that may seem small to us, are so meaningful to them. They are a light to us even though they may not know it. It just goes to show how God uses every person in the world for a purpose. This is what we hope to portray to the kids here at the camp in Kharkiv. This ties in with the camp theme being "iCan". We are trying to get the kids to think about their hopes and dreams, while keeping Christ on their hearts and discovering His purpose for their life.
Please continue to pray for the team and these kids.
Blessings :)
For the Ukraine Team,
Brooke and Tori
