WAVS

West African Vocational Schools is a Christian nonprofit based in Fresno (Calif.) and Seattle that works with local leaders to teach job skills to people in Guinea-Bissau, one of the smallest and poorest countries in the world.

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to see West Africa transformed. The communities we work in will become places where mothers, fathers and young adults have the skills and educational backgrounds they need to provide for their families, Christ-like servant-leaders guide their neighbors to spiritual and personal maturity, and corruption is never tolerated.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to bring hope and opportunity to West African communities by working hand-in-hand with indigenous leaders to establish vocational training centers and economic development programs while sharing the Gospel message. Following the example set by Jesus Christ, we use our talents and resources to promote self-sufficiency and help develop leaders of influence and integrity who will be agents of change in government, business and society.
