Production Director - (Exempt)
Position Overview
The Production Director provides leadership and vision for all audio, video, and lighting (AVL) environments across campuses. This role sets the tone for the worship experience by ensuring technical excellence, strong systems, and healthy team culture. Production serves as a collaborative partner in creating distraction-free, Christ-centered gatherings. The estimated pay range for this position is $80,000 - $93,000 a year.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all AVL operations for weekend services, midweek ministries, and special events
• Lead and develop production staff and volunteers; recruit, train, schedule, and shepherd teams
• Maintain excellence in audio, lighting, video, presentation software, and multi-site broadcasting
• Oversee and maintain technical systems across campuses, including online gatherings
• Manage the Production department budget
• Troubleshoot and improve systems to minimize failures and increase efficiency
• Partner with Worship, Gatherings, and ministry teams to design and execute stage and service elements
• Help shape and maintain The Well’s distinct audio/sonic culture
Qualifications
• A personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of The Well Community Church
• Strong systems thinker with demonstrated team-building experience
• Working knowledge of audio systems, lighting design, video production, projection systems, wiring infrastructure, and presentation software
• Experience leading technical staff and high-level volunteers
• Ability to manage AVL systems at multiple campuses and maintain consistency across environments
• Budget management experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and relational skills with a collaborative leadership style
• Proficiency with scheduling and project management software
